The U.S. Department of State recently improved its policy for H and L travel visas for Mexican citizens. Mexican travel visa applicants may now pay an additional fee to obtain visas that are valid for a longer duration.  Previously, H and L visa holders were limited to travel visas that were only valid for one year at a time. Now, those applying for an H visa, such as an H-1B or H-4, may request a 3-year travel visa. Similarly, L visa applicants may request a 4-year visa.

This change is great news for Mexican citizens who previously had to renew their travel visas every year.  Even with the added fee, this change will ultimately save employers money and resources. It will also save employees a trip to the consulate. We alert all current clients who may benefit from this change when it is time to renew their travel visa.
