USCIS recently addressed the increasing processing delays across its Service Centers which is affecting a range of immigration applications.

For example, the processing of H-1B extension, change of status, and Consular notification applications submitted under regular processing has slowed considerably, with a standard adjudication time of around 7 to 8 months.

USCIS has indicated that it is working to address staffing shortages and workload issues that are causing the delays, including transferring cases between the various Service Centers in line with available resources at those centers. Further information on transfers is available at the following link: https://www.uscis.gov/workload-transfers.

USCIS is hopeful that we will see improved wait times in the coming months. We will keep fingers crossed and you posted!
